JESUS CHRIST IS LORD.
THEME: THE DECLARATION OF TRIUMPH.
Beloved, as we study the holy scriptures under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the book of 1 Samuel 17 as a whole, we realize that the epic battle between the shepherd boy David and Goliath is a symbol of the battle that later opposed satan against Christ.
Indeed, Goliath is a type of satan and David, a type of Jesus Christ.
In the same chapter of the book of 1 Samuel 17 still, Goliath represents the serpent (satan) whose head was struck by one of the five stones of David's bag on the battlefield between the Philistines (a type of demons) and the army of Israel (the people of GOD), victorious. The five stones symbolize the five books of the Jewish Torah.
And to better situate in context, Goliath today represents for the Christian a humiliating situation and the game bag, the Bible and the victory of David symbolize the victory of Jesus Christ on the cross against Satan hence *the declaration of triumph.
Today, what Christians must understand is that we benefit from the promises of GOD thanks to the victory of the epic fight that opposed Jesus Christ, our champion, on the cross against the devil.
And since the spiritual principle of this battle according to 1 Samuel 17 wants the winner of the said battle to subjugate the subjects of the vanquished and this is what happened. This is the reason why we, Christians being aligned behind our winner, Jesus Christ, no longer need to exercise our authority by reminding the enemy of our justice each time we face spiritual claims. We therefore no longer need to worry but to remind the enemy of our justice in each situation. And it is by faith that we do this by relying on Jesus Christ: we thus remind the enemy of the triumph of Jesus Christ on the cross.
In conclusion, we must no longer say that we are overthrowing the Goliath of our lives because this has already been done by Jesus Christ, our Lord, (who crushed his head) but we must line up behind Jesus Christ and the work of the cross and always proclaim our righteousness in the face of all situations that we encounter to assert this victory on the cross and enjoy in peace and unconditionally our heavenly blessings (Psalms 71:24).
May the name of Jesus Christ be glorified in our lives!
Amen
