JESUS CHRIST IS LORD.
THEME: EVERY PLACE WHERE THE SOLE OF YOUR FOOT TREADS IS YOURS.
Beloved, the first thing we must know as Christians is that today we can no longer naively apply the Old Testament without revelation, otherwise we will be praying anachronistic (unwise) prayers.
It is therefore clear that trampling on a place and taking possession of it, as the Lord commanded Joshua in the Old Testament, must no longer be understood in the same way in the New Covenant in Jesus Christ (the New Testament).
In Romans 1:17, it is revealed that in Jesus Christ the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, and as it is written: "The righteous shall live by faith." So the walk of faith is no longer physical as in the Old Testament, but spiritual (Joshua 1:2-4).
When we examine Deuteronomy 11:24, we will see that God delineates the boundaries where the foot must tread, and this symbolizes the cross of Christ (the boundaries here are defined by the work of the cross). And as it is written that "beautiful are the feet of those who proclaim the gospel of peace," this also means that there is a close relationship between the feet and the gospel. The feet here symbolize the eyes, and the cross the place where one must tread. In other words, it is in the accomplished work of Christ in the New Testament that we set out to take by faith what the Word says about our situation in order to proclaim it in prayer.
To this end, we must know the Word of God and, by extension, become accustomed to reading the Word so that we can wisely accept by faith what Jesus Christ has already accomplished and provided for us.
We must therefore not ignore that it is the Spirit of truth (the Holy Spirit/John 14:17) who comes to bear witness to what Jesus Christ has done for us in a given situation. It is always the Spirit of truth who comes to glorify the name of Jesus Christ.
For this, we can cite a few examples:
- for sickness, we must look by faith to the stripes of Jesus Christ in order to receive healing through the laying on of hands (1 Peter 2:14/James 5:14-15);
- for lack or poverty, believe that we are already rich because of Jesus Christ and pay our tithes and offerings so that our finances are secure; - another principle of prosperity is to give more and not walk in the company of mockers (Psalm 1:1).
In this way, we will not only be victorious and prosperous Christians, not only in spiritual gifts but also in all other areas of our lives.
All glory be to Jesus Christ our Lord!
