JESUS CHRIST IS LORD.
THEME: BY HIS BRUISE WE ARE HEALED.
Beloved, first of all, we must know that the bruising of Jesus Christ not only provided healing for our illnesses on the cross, but for many other things. This is why we speak of a total healing, because in our lives there are many infirmities, first spiritual and then physical, that materialize through lack, absence, poverty, disability, or even insufficiency, etc.
Secondly, we specify STRIKING because it was the entire body of Jesus that was scourged and wounded and was formed like a single skin that is torn off when an animal is sacrificed: hence the bruising and not the bruises.
The third thing we absolutely want to clarify is that just as grace is not a pardon for sin, so too we cannot force God's hand in a situation, especially when we are not in the position we should be in.
In 1 Corinthians 10:13, it is written that no temptation comes upon us except such as is humanly possible, and God, who is faithful, will not allow us to be tempted beyond our strength, but with temptation, he will also provide a way out so that we can overcome it. In another passage, it is written: "Lead us not into temptation." It immediately seems as if these two passages contradict each other, but they do not, because God does not tempt us.
Although it must be understood that in good biblical translations, temptation here simply means trial. And we likewise clarify that in trials, God does not abandon us, but comes to our aid and helps us with his strength (his Spirit). Since it is said that for every trial, He Himself prepares a way out for us. Therefore, for every trial, there is always a solution: Jesus Christ.
In this context, we often notice that after moments of celebration in our lives, we are often faced with bad news. If we stick to what God's Word reveals and instructs us to do, we will clearly observe that it is because of idolatry that we must flee (1 Corinthians 10:7 and 14).
What is it really?
In light of God's Word, it is simply the act of communing with foreign gods through eating, drinking, and dancing (1 Corinthians 10:7).
So be careful not to misinterpret what is said, because rejoicing is not wrong, since Moses did so before God with other priests. But if we do it before foreign gods, then it is idolatry.
And in most cases, many Christians do it out of ignorance (during mourning and other ceremonies where the name of the Lord is not invoked) at their own risk, because the consequences are numerous and destructive: illness, nighttime sleeping and feeding, poverty, misery, disgrace, etc.
But fortunately, there is always a solution, and to all these problems that Christians may encounter, the Lord, the Eternal, has given as wisdom: the Lord's Supper.
According to what the Word reveals in 1 Corinthians 10:16, the bread we break brings us into communion with the body of Jesus, and the cup we drink with the blood of Jesus, and this forms the altar of Christ's sacrifice.
We must know that it is what is done on the altar of sacrifice that counts and makes it powerful. Moreover, this is the same principle that is imitated on witchcraft altars.
So if we want to benefit from everything that is on the altar of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, then we must eat the Lord's Supper knowing that on this altar are the body and blood of Jesus. And by faith we can benefit from the blessings provided by the body and blood of Jesus on this altar: healing from sickness; riches from poverty; peace from troubles; forgiveness of sins because of the blood; prosperity in every way because of the sacrifice of Jesus and the immense riches of his grace, for we deserve nothing before the Lord Jesus Christ! But everything is given to us out of love from the Father of glory in Jesus Christ!
Thus, in the face of all difficult or troubled situations, let us partake of Holy Communion by faith, in the full knowledge of the ministries rendered by the body and blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. Like the Apostle Paul, our boat will be able to dock without problem, and what is dead in us will be able to come back to life (Eutichus)...
May all glory be to Jesus Christ our Lord!
