JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!

THEME: THE SECRET OF LONGEVITY

Beloved, God's desire is that we prosper and be in good health as our souls prosper, and that we live long. Prosperity here does not only refer to money, but also and above all to success in all that we undertake (Psalm 1:3).

How to prosper in all aspects?

We simply have to be planted near a stream of water, that is to say, to be where the good word of the Gospel is preached. It is this water of the word which, when it is preached, spreads in each of our lives to make us prosperous in all respects. As for longevity, let us know that God wants us to live long. However, Men continue to die prematurely, the most robust barely reaching sixty.

What explains this state of affairs?

Simply because they are ignorant of the secret of longevity. It is this secret that made the apostles of the early Church very powerful to the point where they were the ones who decided not only the day, but also the way in which they were to die.

Where did the secret of their longevity lie?

Indeed, the secret of the apostles of the early Church lay first in the fact of Abiding in the Lord. The Bible declares that he who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, abides in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1); and we know that Christ is the dwelling place of the Most High.

How then to abide in the Lord?

It is simply enough to take the Holy Communion with discernment. For, the Lord Jesus says that he who eats his flesh and drinks his blood, he abides in him. In other words, the secret of the apostles' power lay in the breaking of bread, bread which is the body that was bruised for our healing. Those therefore who abide in JESUS CHRIST receive the life of the Lord, and consequently, sickness, old age and early death have no more power over them. The more we take the Lord's Supper, the more the life of Christ grows in us. Then, to live long, we must see the Lord Jesus in everything we do.

What does this mean?

The Lord says that whatever we do, let us do it as doing it to him. Even in taking the Holy Supper, we must see the Lord Jesus Christ, especially when we discern the body. We must also make Jesus Christ the center of gravity of the Gospel, so that everything is of him and nothing of us. Finally, let us know that just as fruit trees have first fruits that announce the season, we Christians, our bodies constitute the first fruits of the glory of the Lord to come. Therefore, we must manifest this glory in our life not only by prosperity in all respects, health, but also and above all, by longevity.
