JESUS ​​CHRIST IS LORD

THEME: STAND WITH THE ARMOR OF GOD: THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT.

Beloved, it is a mistake to think that as soon as we come to Jesus Christ as a born-again christian everything is acquired and we can rest on our laurels.

As long as we persevere in faith in Jesus Christ, we will always face the wiles and attacks of the enemy in the spiritual realm.

But the good news is that, Jesus Christ has stripped the dominions and authorities and made a public spectacle of them by triumphing over them by the cross (Col 2:15). Stripping is understood here as removing all armor, all capacity for harm; while triumphing is dragging one's enemy to the ground with chains.

This is why we too receive, because of Christ's victory, the power to dominate over all things in spiritual warfare but using not carnal weapons but rather the weapons of GOD which are spiritual and powerful by virtue (Ephesians 6: 11 and 13).

However, it is good to know that the weapons of GOD are diverse and used according to the cases in order to stand firm against the attacks of the enemy: the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shoes that give the zeal of the Gospel, and especially one of the most prolific: the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.

As proof, Hebrews 4:12, confirms to us that the word of God is living and effective, sharper than a double-edged sword, penetrating, which separates the soul and the spirit, joints and marrow. And it is carried by seven angels powerful in strength!

Moreover, to cite an example, Jesus Christ himself used the sword of the spirit during his temptation in the desert (Matthew 4) to resist the wiles of the devil. It is therefore as much revealing as it is challenging that as Christians, we must read the word of God, know it and proclaim it in a timely manner when we face the oppressions of the enemy in the situations of our lives. So, if I am for example a victim of witchcraft, I must proclaim a word that corresponds to this situation. Otherwise, by proclaiming another word one is doomed to failure. And the cases are thus numerous.

In short, it is a question of Christians understanding that we walk in a position of victory by resting on the work of the cross of Christ and that it is important to appropriate the weapons of GOD by taking care, in the case of the sword of the spirit, to read the word of God a lot in order to proclaim it in the face of the adversity of the reign of darkness.
